Event Support Associate

The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri (JLKCMO) seeks an experienced fundraising event coordinator to join our team. This position will support Holiday Mart, a 4-day shopping event, and Take Five, a cocktail party event. This is a flexible part-time position with increased hours at event time.

The JLKCMO is a 1400+ member organization. This position will complement and support the work of the volunteers related to fund development. This person will work closely with volunteers who lead and are responsible for these events.

Responsibilities

Holiday Mart is the primary fundraiser for the Junior League and is a high-profile four-day shopping event, hosting more than 200 vendors from across the country and over 20,000 shoppers. This role will act as the primary interface with the volunteer-led Holiday Mart Committee.

  • Attend committee meetings and support the work of the committee with pre-event planning and preparations.
  • Primary contact between the Junior League and retailers, managing the application and acceptance process and handling all documentation, including but not limited to applications, contracts and insurance forms.
  • Communicating regularly with venue, vendors and retailers.
  • Provide website support for tickets sales and Holiday Mart retailer pages.
  • Main contact for all Holiday Mart event information and processes.
  • Primary staff on site during week of event.

Take Five is a party with a purpose event for members, spouses and friends.

  • Attend committee meetings and support the work of the committee with pre-event planning and preparations.
  • Assist with raffle basket and silent auction set-up.
  • On site night of the event to support raffle basket drawings and silent auction closing.

General fund development support including maintenance of donor records and gift acknowledgments. Handle multiple tasks and projects to support the League’s strategic direction.

Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; WordPress; and DocuSign

Familiar with donor database programs

Bachelor’s degree

3-5 years’ experience preferred in event/fund development
