Grant: $5,000 for a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) therapy program

Volunteers will assist students with online library research skills for documented research papers.

Hooked on Books committee members will coordinate the collection, sorting and distribution of an estimated 45,000 books this fall. The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri will partner with The Star on this important endeavor – to provide children throughout the metro area with age-appropriate books of their own to keep at home.
