Fundraisers

The money raised by the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri is largely given back to the community and goes towards our chosen impact area - helping children learn to read, as well as other community programming.

In addition to funding, hundreds of trained volunteers contribute to community efforts both in the area of children's literacy and in other community programs.

Impact Area-Children’s Literacy

  • The Junior League of Kansas City, MO has given more than $1.2 million, nearly 1,000 total volunteers, more than 28,000 total volunteer hours and distributed 760,000 books to local agencies that address Children’s Literacy.

Holiday Mart

  • Holiday Mart 2009 is a 4-day shopping extravaganza beginning Oct 22nd through Oct 25th featuring over 200 retailers offering unique products like fashion, home décor, beauty, specialty foods and more along with exciting special events all to raise funds for the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri’s community projects.
  • Holiday Mart funds have made it possible for the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri to give over $1.2 Million since 2000 to support children’s literacy programs in our Kansas City community. 
  • Holiday Mart 2008 raised over $500,000, which approximately $0.85 of every dollar raised goes back to supporting our mission, our programs and our community impact projects which is currently Children’s Literacy.  Over 22,000 shoppers attended the Holiday Mart over the four-day event. 
  • Holiday Mart provides great shopping for a great cause with the majority of funds raised from the event are through sponsorships, ticket sales & retailer involvement.

Resale Boutique

  • The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri Resale Boutique has provided a retail outlet of gently used clothes, home furnishings and household items since 1934.  Funds raised at the Resale Boutique are distributed to Community Agencies throughout the metro area.
